“We are very pleased to have Kevin on our team,” said Andrew R. Basile, Jr., the firm’s president. “Kevin’s experience on significant patent litigation matters will be a great complement to the Young Basile intellectual property litigation team.”
Mr. Menes joins Young Basile’s litigation practice with extensive experience handling patent infringement matters in federal courts and U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations involving a wide range of technologies including thin film transistor liquid crystal displays, mobile operating systems, computer-aided design, and connected home devices.
Mr. Menes has been an integral member of multiple trial teams, with experience in all aspects of patent litigation. In an ITC investigation involving TFT-LCD display technology, he successfully led the defense on two patents relating to silicon etching processes used in the manufacturing of TFT arrays. Representing Google in multiple ITC investigations, Mr. Menes worked closely with technical experts and client representatives to develop successful defenses relating to video codec technologies and other aspects of Google’s Android platform. He has also inspected and analyzed source code on behalf of Nest relating to demand response energy savings programs, proximity and other sensor technologies, and algorithmic temperature control and thermal modelling.
