TROY, MI, August 27, 2018 – Troy, Michigan-based intellectual property law firm Young Basile Hanlon & MacFarlane, P.C. announced today that it hired Darryl Shorter as the latest addition to its growing Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.

Darryl has over 15 years’ experience as a practicing attorney. He handles a variety of intellectual property matters, including preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent and trademark applications, IP licensing and assisting in the development, training and maintenance of client’s intellectual property programs.

Darryl worked as an engineer with GPU Energy in Reading, Pennsylvania and with PECO Energy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also owned and operated his own business in the sports licensing industry.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Delaware County Bar Associations, as well as the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. He is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (2001) and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2001), North Carolina, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As a member of the local bar association, he sits as an arbitrator several times per year hearing cases and rendering awards.

Darryl received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University in 1994. He received his Juris Doctorate from The Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2001.
