The Connecticut Appellate Court upheld a trial court victory led by Young Basile’s Jeff Wilson on behalf of Great Expressions Dental Centers of Connecticut.
The plaintiff, a dentist in a small GEDC office, had alleged that she was discriminated against by the company because of her pregnancy after several months of attendance issues. The Superior Court held that the employer tried to work with plaintiff and accommodated her daily tardiness for over two months. The Appellate Court agreed that GEDC’s reasons for termination were “plaintiff’s chronic tardiness, complaints from staff and patients concerning her performance and unprofessional interactions with staff.”
