Evan provides a broad range of IP counseling services. His practice focuses on IP protection strategies and portfolio management, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, performing non-infringement and validity analyses and preparing patent opinions, and performing IP-related due diligence.

Evan has counseled clients across a broad range of industries including automotive, banking and financial services, medical devices and diagnostic equipment, exercise equipment, HVAC and building management, and manufacturing.

Industry Experience

Before pursuing a legal career, Evan was an IP manager and R&D engineer at Becton Dickinson. His IP management experience includes monitoring the competitive IP landscape and providing strategic guidance, identifying strategic areas for future IP filings, evaluating outside opportunities, facilitating the administrative IP process, and working with product development teams to evaluate and file invention records.

Evan’s engineering experience includes leading R&D teams to design and launch new products in the medical device sector. His efforts led to innovative advancements in both the minimally invasive spine surgery and soft tissue biopsy markets. Evan’s inventions have resulted in over 25 granted US patents.
