Mr. El-Tahry concentrates his practice on counseling clients on patent and trademark matters, including global portfolio strategies, patent prosecution and product clearance. Primarily, he helps companies procure intellectual property assets. From the time of disclosure until a patent issues, Mr. El-Tahry has extensive experience counseling companies and individual inventors on intellectual property strategies that fit their business needs and goals. The bulk of his technical experience relates to software, electrical and electromechanical disciplines.
Prior to joining Young Basile, Mr. El-Tahry founded a consulting firm that helped small and medium enterprises develop their intellectual property portfolios. Working with technology start-ups, Mr. El-Tahry assisted his clients in develop practices for disclosing inventions, reducing costs associated with patent prosecution and improving the quality of their disclosures. Prior to venturing out on his own, Mr. El-Tahry worked at another prominent Detroit area law firm.
